OUR VALUES AIM TO BE A CLEAR GUIDELINE FOR THE CLIMATE WITHIN THE ORGANISATION THAT ALL STAFF SHOULD READ AND IDENTIFY WITH AS IT IS A PREREQUISITE FOR A PROSPEROUS AND SAFE ORGANIZATION.
Stockholms Vaktbolag AB (SVAB) safeguard the equal value of all people and their right to an equal and fair treatment. The value base is, as indicated in the name, a basic approach that we expect all staff to abide by in work and in communication about everything that concerns SVAB or its staff.
We are an inclusive organisation where everyone should contribute to making SVAB welcoming and respectful. We therefore clarify our zero tolerance for violence, threats, bullying or harassment and wish that you as an employee of SVAB understand the importance of a respectful treatment and an open mind. All people are diverse, and our preconceptions should not affect the interaction with our colleagues.
Violence refers to physical violence against a person or property, threats refer to concretely stated threats whether verbally or by email/SMS, but also more subtle or indirect threats. Harassment includes ridiculing or disparaging generalizations of, for example, "female" or "LBGQT" characteristics. To speak inappropriately or unseemly is also completely unacceptable.
The basis for harassment is based on the seven grounds of discrimination:
o Ethnicity
o Disability
o Gender
o Gender-biased identity/expression
o Religious or other beliefs
o Sexual orientation
o Age
These are protected under Swedish law and engaging in harassment or discrimination on the grounds above can in turn give justification for police reporting and immediate dismissal - as an employee of SVAB you respect your colleagues, and any opinions about the characteristics above become irrelevant the second you start at work.
Bullying involves systematic victimisation within a social group and can range from glances, gestures and ostracism of colleagues to being withheld by the employer with information, addressed with a sexual jargon or so-called "administrative" penalty sanctions, where, for example, one can be refused help or reassigned without legitimate reason.
Sexual harassment refers to harassment of a sexual nature – examples of this are touching, jokes, suggestions, glances or images that are sexually alluding. It can also be a sexual jargon. In a male-dominated industry, women in particular risk being particularly vulnerable and we at Stockholms Vaktbolag AB want to clarify how this does not fit into our values and how we strongly distance ourselves from these actions and the people who contribute to them, directly or indirectly.
If anyone at work feels that they have been treated in a way that is contrary to the above, we would like you to contact us. We care about our employees and abusive treatment should be actively discouraged.
